BEING THANKFUL

As Carly and I reflect today on so many things we’re thankful for, one is you. God has blessed us tremendously through your prayers, your financial support, your encouragement and so much more. There is no way we could ever repay you for the grace we’ve received because of your love and sacrifice. We are humbled that we get to share the gospel in a country we love so much.

Thank you,

Matt Chase

Carly & Matt Chase are serving the Lord as missionaries in Japan. As you can imagine, the challenges are many. So are the blessings!

One way they are endeavoring to be good stewards through their ministry work in Japan is by buying a house in their community. They must move out of their current rental house by April 2017, so time is of the essence. Because rental contracts in Japan are for two years with no guarantee of renewing, it is no longer a sustainable option for their family or for their ministry long term. Not only that, buying a house is a better use of the limited resources of money, time, and energy that they are called to steward.

Buying a house also demonstrates to their community and their Japanese church that they are committed to God’s work in Japan long-term as missionaries and as a family.

PRAY for God to help them raise the needed $360,000 to purchase a house in Chiba City that is suitable for their family and their ministry needs by December 2016. And, consider giving to help further this much needed ministry work.

Pledges/Financial commitments to this project can be made by email to chasesjapan@gmail.com with a simple statement saying “As God enables, I commit $______ as a one-time gift to this project” and/or “I commit $ _____ monthly to this project for ____ years (1 to 5 years).” Anonymous commitments can be made in the same way to jennifer.miller@mtw.org. Please do not mail or send money at this point. Matt will follow-up on all pledges in the next few weeks with further instructions. He and Carly trust that God will continue to provide for their every need “according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:20)
